The Shareholders Certificate lists the current shareholders of a Maltese company as recorded by the Malta Business Register.
What it is and who issues it
The Malta Business Register (MBR) issues the certificate for a company on its register. It is an official record of who currently holds shares in the company, dated as at the day it is issued.
What it includes
- The company name and registration number
- The current shareholder or shareholders of the company
- The date of issue
When you might need one
Banks, investors and foreign authorities often ask who owns a company before they open an account or sign an agreement. A shareholders certificate answers that question at the date of issue.
