The Legal and Judicial Certificate sets out the legal and judicial status of a Maltese company as recorded by the Malta Business Register.
What it is and who issues it
The Malta Business Register (MBR) issues the certificate. It records whether the company has any legal or judicial proceedings or status that the register records, dated as at the day it is issued.
When you might need one
Banks, lenders and foreign authorities often ask for confirmation that a company has no recorded legal or judicial status before they lend to it or sign a contract with it.
How to order
You can order the Legal and Judicial Certificate online. It costs €75, excluding VAT. Certification or an Apostille can be added for each certificate.
